JST Institute is a threshold to training and education integrating therapeutic ideas and practices with social justice values and principles. It is also the home of the Journal of Systemic Therapies, which has been publishing collaborative, client-centered ideas and practices worldwide since 1981. Grounded in practice-based evidence, our approach privileges people’s local knowledge with an emphasis on abilities rather than deficits, possibilities rather than limitations. Our competency-oriented practices are highly effective when improving access to mental health services through walk-in clinics, single session therapy, brief services or longer-term environments. They are also beneficial when facilitating organizational change and innovation, working with communities experiencing hardship or, for any service that aims to provide people with the support they need in a timely manner. Our training and education includes workshops, certificate programs, online courses, conferences and publications.

Come join us for this workshop on navigating high-stakes conversations. Register before January 31st, to take advantage of the Early Bird Price of $150!

The ability to navigate high-stakes conversations lies at the heart of constructive change. High-stakes conversations are often characterized by conflicting opinions and heightened emotional intensity. Brief Narrative practices can help people to separate from divisive conflictual stories and develop counter-stories of collaboration and connection. There is a focus on getting people the help they need when they need it. These critical discussions occur across a range of circumstances, including working with individuals in distress, couples experiencing conflict, communities facing hardship, organizational disputes, struggles in mental health care, and more. You will be introduced to a variety of skills that you can apply immediately to your practice.
