🌟 Day of Giving Spotlight: Lindale Kid Fish 🌟

The Lindale Rotary Club is excited to invite families to one of the most beloved community traditions—Kid Fish! This annual event brings together children, families, and volunteers for a fun-filled morning of fishing, prizes, and fellowship.

Hosted at the American Legion Jordan-Duncan Post 15 in Lindale, Kid Fish offers young anglers the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, learn new skills, and make unforgettable memories.

🌟 Day of Giving Spotlight: Vettes 4 Vets 🌟

The Lindale Rotary Club is proud to support Vettes 4 Vets, a nonprofit organization fueled by community spirit, patriotism, and a passion for helping those who have served our nation.

Vettes 4 Vets is made up of car enthusiasts who are committed to doing far more than showcasing beautiful vehicles—they use their love of cars to bring awareness to the needs of local veterans and to raise funds for life-changing home renovations. These renovations are provided at no cost to the veteran.

All veterans are nominated, and a dedicated committee carefully selects each recipient. One of the most meaningful moments comes during the surprise door knock, when the organization reveals to the veteran that they have been chosen for a renovation.

To date, Vettes 4 Vets has completed two home renovation projects in East Texas—one in Lindale and another in Tyler, completed in November—and they are just getting started. Their mission is simple and powerful: to give back to the men and women who sacrificed so much for our country.

We are grateful for the commitment of Ben Pate and the entire Vettes 4 Vets team for honoring our veterans with dignity, compassion, and action.

🌟 Day of Giving Spotlight: Mercy Ships 🌟

The Lindale Rotary Club is honored to support Mercy Ships, a global ministry bringing hope and healing to people across Africa who have little or no access to safe surgical care.

Mercy Ships operates state-of-the-art hospital ships that travel to some of the poorest coastal nations in Africa, providing free surgeries, dental care, and essential medical services. These life-changing procedures restore health, dignity, and opportunity for individuals who otherwise would not receive care.

But Mercy Ships’ mission goes far beyond the immediate medical needs. Their work is grounded in creating long-term, sustainable impact. Through partnerships with African governments, hospitals, and local leaders, Mercy Ships strengthens national health systems by:
✔️ Training surgeons, nurses, anesthetists, and other medical professionals
✔️ Upgrading and improving local medical facilities
✔️ Providing mentorship and hands-on clinical training
✔️ Supporting healthcare development long after the ship departs

The Lindale Rotary Club is proud to support Lindale Youth Sports and the City of Lindale’s ongoing commitment to strengthening recreation opportunities for local families.

Under the leadership of Mayor Gavin Rasco, the City of Lindale is making strategic investments to enhance youth sports programs through thoughtful improvements to our parks system. These efforts are part of the city’s long-term Master Park Plan, designed to create high-quality spaces that encourage healthy activity, team development, and community pride.

A major focus is Faulkner Park, where plans include upgrading existing facilities and adding new fields to support the growing needs of baseball, softball, and soccer programs. These improvements will:

✔️ Improve training and competition experiences
✔️ Strengthen community engagement
✔️ Foster a healthy, active environment for Lindale’s youth

🌟 Day of Giving Spotlight: Lindale ISD Education Foundation 🌟

The Lindale Rotary Club is proud to support the Lindale ISD Education Foundation, a powerful force for innovation, creativity, and excellence in our local schools.

Since its founding in 2009, the Education Foundation has played a vital role in enriching the learning experience for students across Lindale ISD. Through the generosity of donors and the leadership of a dedicated volunteer Board of Directors, the Foundation has awarded over $600,000 in classroom grants to Lindale teachers.

These grants do far more than provide classroom materials—they spark imagination, elevate teaching, and give students opportunities to discover new passions. They empower educators to bring creative programs, hands-on projects, and student-centered learning experiences to life.

The Lindale ISD Education Foundation is truly a way to make a real and lasting impact right here at home—directly supporting the success of our students and the visionary educators who lead them.

🌟 Day of Giving Spotlight: Lindale Christmas Helpers 🌟

The Lindale Rotary Club is honored to support Lindale Christmas Helpers, a heartfelt community program dedicated to ensuring that no Lindale ISD child goes without Christmas.

Founded in 2003, Lindale Christmas Helpers began when community members realized that children right here in our own neighborhoods were going without during the holidays. Over the past 22 years, the program has grown into a powerful, community-wide effort supported by churches, schools, businesses, and countless caring individuals—all working together to bring joy to local families.

This year, the program served more than 100 families, representing over 300 children. Each child received a personalized Christmas “sack” filled with items that meet their needs and reflect their wishes. Beyond that, families were provided:

🍲 Easy-to-prepare food for the holiday break
🥛 Milk
🛏️ Blankets
📖 Bibles
✨ Additional essentials that remind families they are cared for and supported

Lindale Christmas Helpers embodies the true spirit of the season—neighbors helping neighbors, spreading compassion, and ensuring that every child experiences the joy and warmth of Christmas.

We are grateful for this incredible program and the dedicated volunteers who make it possible year after year.

🌟 Day of Giving Spotlight: Lillie Russell Memorial Library 🌟

The Lindale Rotary Club is proud to support the Lillie Russell Memorial Library, a cornerstone of literacy, learning, and community connection in Lindale.

The library serves as a dynamic community resource center dedicated to supporting literacy and educational enrichment for Lindale and the surrounding areas. Each year, over 100,000 patrons walk through its doors to explore books, participate in programs, utilize resources, and build meaningful connections.

Approximately 20% of the library’s budget comes from the City of Lindale, while the remaining $180,000+ is raised through patron support, donations, grants, and annual fundraisers. These efforts allow the library to continue providing free and accessible educational opportunities for all.

🌟 Day of Giving Spotlight: Hope Haven of East Texas 🌟

The Lindale Rotary Club is honored to support Hope Haven of East Texas, a ministry dedicated to serving some of the most vulnerable young people in our region—children and teenagers in the foster care system.

Since opening its Lindale home in 2018, Hope Haven has cared for more than 250 teenage girls in foster care, providing stability, safety, and a supportive environment during some of the most difficult times in their lives.

Their mission continues through multiple programs designed to meet the needs of youth at every stage:
✔️ Lindale residential home serving teenage girls in foster care
✔️ Tyler residential home for young women ages 18–21 who have aged out of foster care, helping them transition toward independence
✔️ Child Placing Agency that licenses treatment foster homes for boys and girls of all ages

This year, Hope Haven expanded its impact through Family Solutions, a new ministry providing counseling and therapy services for children and families. As a Medicaid-licensed provider, this program ensures every child in foster care can access the healing support they need.

We are grateful for the leadership of Miles Morrison and the entire Hope Haven team as they continue bringing hope, healing, and opportunity to children and youth across East Texas.

🌟 Day of Giving Spotlight: David Powell Community Food Pantry 🌟

The Lindale Rotary Club is honored to support the Dr. David Powell Community Food Pantry, a vital ministry serving families throughout the Lindale Independent School District.

The Pantry reaches more than 350 families each month, offering essential food support to neighbors in need. Located on the southwest corner of the ChristPoint Methodist Church campus, it operates in partnership with the East Texas Food Bank (ETFB) and receives additional resources from King’s Storehouse in Tyler, as well as local community food drives.

Each month, the Pantry distributes over 30,000 pounds of food, ensuring that families facing hardship have access to healthy, dependable nourishment.

The Pantry is sustained by extraordinary community support:
✔️ Funding from the We Care Thrift Shop provides over half of its operating income
✔️ Additional donations come from individuals, churches, businesses, and civic organizations
✔️ More than 120 volunteers each month help make this mission possible

These generous contributions—of food, finances, and time—are the backbone of the Pantry’s operations and a testament to Lindale’s heart for service.

We are grateful for the impact the David Powell Community Food Pantry continues to make in the lives of families across our community.
