Practicing pediatrics at this site since 1981, Doctor Schneider and his staff have prided themselves on the close personal care and relationships they have developed with their patients and families. We care for children from birth through young adulthood. Most of our patients maintain relationships with our office through their college years and some, thereafter. We have great expertise gained through training and experience in all ages and stages.

With all the disinformation on social media and the recent uptick in this disinformation, particularly affecting the health of children, we at BelliAcres wanted to present some options on different social media platforms that are creating science-based content and promoting a healthy environment for our children and their future.

As you read up on things that affect your child’s health, you may come across false rumors or outdated ideas—especially on the internet and social media. It’s important to find trustworthy, up-to-date information. That can be hard when the internet and social media can elevate falsehoods and p...

A note from Jane Roach NP about her upcoming retirement 08/01/2025:

I want to let you know that I am planning to retire as of 08/01/2025. I have worked as a pediatric nurse practitioner for just shy of 40 years; the last 25 of which have been at BelliAcres. It has been a pleasure to care for your children and watch them grow, and for some, to see their children as patients of Belliacres. Don and Zach Schneider and the entire staff at BelliAcres provide comprehensive, caring, and state-of-the-art pediatric care, and I have learned much from them. Their reputation in the community is proof of the quality of care they provide. My grandchildren are well cared for patients of this practice :)

I am at the point in my life where I would like to focus on my health, family, and friends. My health absorbed a little blow with a cancer diagnosis 2 years ago. I still feel great and want to spend more time with my family and friends, and that will involve a lot of travel :)

I will miss this definition of myself. I have found this work very satisfying and have learned a lot from the families I have cared for. Thank you for that opportunity.

BelliAcres Pediatrics is sad to announce that Nurse Maggie will be leaving the practice at the end of August to pursue her passion in the research of polycystic ovarian disease and will no longer be seeing patients. We are excited for her and her new endeavors and know she will thrive in the research setting. We are also looking for a new full-time pediatric nurse practitioner so if interested please forward a resume our way to join our amazing work family here at BelliAcres Pediatrics. Thank you Maggie for all your hard work you will be missed at BelliAcres Pediatrics.

We want to start gauging interest on a new immunization that we will begin offering to our patients within the next few weeks. Recently, Beyfortus a immunization against RSV was approved for infants 8M and under. It showed an 80% reduction in RSV severe illness and hospitalization. This is the first medication we have to potentially mitigate the severity of RSV. Unfortunately, insurance companies do not have to offer coverage for up to 1 year after medication approval. At this time we are going to start an interested list so as doses come in we can start administering the medication in hopes that insurance will cover payment appropriately. If insurance does not pay for the medication there will be a financial waiver allowing parents to still purchase the medication so that we can begin administration this fall versus waiting till the next RSV season. The medication gives 5M of protection which would span the entire RSV season. If interested in getting on the waitlist please portal message Dr. Zach directly with your interest and he will add you to the list. Thanks BelliAcres Pediatrics.

Tick season is upon us again. Here are some important reminders. DEET-containing bug sprays are the best for the prevention of tick bits and are safe for kids between 10 and 30% DEET. 10% lasts 2 hours 30% 5 hours. Nightly tick checks are recommended and the hairline and groin line are the two most common places to find ticks snacking. What to do if you find a tick: Remove the tick with tweezers, pulling it straight out from under the head. Once done evaluate the tick to determine the need for antibiotic prophylaxis for Lyme and throw the tick away (we don't need the tick to be kept for analysis). Antibiotic prophylaxis is indicated for nonpregnant adults and children who meet all of the following criteria:

•Attached tick is identified as an adult or nymphal I. scapularis tick (deer tick).

•Tick is estimated to have been attached for ≥36 hours based on degree of engorgement or time of exposure.

•Prophylaxis is begun within 72 hours of tick removal.

If you meet the criteria for antibiotic prohylaxis please call the office for an appointment :) Happy Spring.
