It looks like just an Easter egg hunt… but it’s so much more.

Kids are building:
• Visual scanning
• Coordination & balance
• Fine motor skills
• Motor planning
• Social skills

Play is one of the main occupations of children. This is why play is at the heart of what we do in OT—because it’s meaningful, motivating, and effective.

OT Month feels like the perfect time to say thank you for all the little things that don’t go unnoticed. Watching this team grow, connect, and make an impact is something I’m really proud of. They make it look easy—but it’s all heart and hard work. This team is everything. 🫶🏼 Happy OT Month to the wonderful therapy staff at KID FUNdamentals. -❤️Leslie

Today is World Autism Acceptance Day 💙

More than awareness, today is about truly accepting, understanding, and supporting individuals with autism just as they are.

Every child we work with reminds us that there’s no “right” way to learn, play, or connect. They show us new ways of seeing the world that we might otherwise miss.

Acceptance can look simple:
✨ being patient
✨ listening
✨ meeting someone where they are
✨ creating spaces where they feel safe and valued

A little more understanding goes a long way. Today and every day, let’s choose acceptance 💙

So proud of her hard work! 👏🏽Practiced coloring skills using a “grown-up” grasp with small broken crayons and stabilizing the paper, and built hand strength by peeling and placing tiny stickers—great for little fingers!

Our friend here had a great time creating his chick craft and showing off his hard work. Activities like this are a fun way to build creativity, follow directions, and work on fine motor skills—all while having FUN.

A Little Intro

OUR MISSION STATEMENT: Our mission is to provide the best and most comprehensive care in pediatric occupational therapy services. Our therapy center is dedicated to providing children and their families with quality care with individualized, personal attention to their needs. We are here because we want to help children learn the fundamentals needed to enhance their skills, and become as independent as possible to live a fuller life.

KID FUNdamentals Therapy Center, Inc. was founded by Leslie Valmonte, M.A., OTR/L, and is the current owner and president of this outpatient clinic. Leslie has over 12 years experience working as a pediatric occupational therapist. She chose to become an Occupational Therapist in Pediatrics because of her passion for children. Throughout her college years, Leslie has had a wide breadth of internships that exposed her to numerous avenues of Occupational Therapy. It was until an internship that involved children was when she realized her calling to the pediatric field.

Going into private practice has been a path Leslie has always planned. Upon completing the requirements to become a registered and licensed Occupational Therapist, she first focused her energies in becoming a skilled clinician by gaining hands-on experience to provide quality care to those she serves. Now, with over a decade of experience in public schools and private clinics, Leslie brings depth needed to provide services in private practice.
