Relief can begin in this now moment - we don't have to wait for things to change

I work with many clients who want relief from mental pain and physical suffering.

One of the first things I show them is that they don’t have to wait for life to change before they can feel relief.

Relief begins in the now moment by gently shifting what they focus on.

When we change focus, the body and mind respond instantly: chemistry changes, muscles loosen, breathing deepens, and calm begins to return.

A client once came in completely overwhelmed with anxiety. His worries were real. But staying focused on them wasn’t helping. He was hardly sleeping, drinking too much, and procrastinating on things he needed to take care of, like paying his rent.
As he listed his fears, I asked, “How does that focus make you feel?”

He said, “Scared. Overwhelmed. Panicked.”
So I guided him to talk about something that always lights him up, music.

He started describing a song he’d just discovered: the rhythm, the lyrics, the way the video’s cinematography brought it to life. Within minutes, his whole energy shifted. He was lighter, laughing, and even hopeful.

Then he paused and said, “But this doesn’t solve my problems.”
That’s where real wisdom begins. Because it does help!!!

When you start from calm, your body stops releasing stress hormones and starts generating energy, clarity, and optimism- the very things that make solutions possible.

That’s the foundation we built on during his hypnosis session, helping him release the old beliefs that he needed to suffer or stay afraid to make things work.

Another client arrived with a migraine, burdened by caring for everyone but herself. I asked how that felt. “Too much,” she said. “Completely overwhelming.”

I guided her to shift her focus, to recall a moment that felt light and free.

She described a family vacation on the Oregon Coast, the ocean breeze, her grandkids’ laughter, the warmth of the sun.

As she spoke, her body softened, her tension eased, and her pain faded. In hypnosis, we deepened those feelings of calm until her migraine completely dissolved. She wasn’t escaping reality- she was reminding her body what calm and lightness feels like again.

Science confirms what we see in hypnosis every day: when you focus on something that feels good, your brain releases serotonin and dopamine, quiets cortisol and adrenaline, and sends a message throughout your system - you’re safe, all is well. Feeling good is powerful medicine for a happy brain and a healthy body.

I know this, but I forget sometimes, caught up in my temporary concerns.

This morning, I was stressing about something, but then I had the rare opportunity to go for a walk with my daughter. I reminded myself: why not enjoy being with her instead of focusing on my worries? Worrying won’t solve anything. What a concept, I can choose. I didn’t always know that; worries and fears used to consume me.

On the drive back home, the choice came again: focus on my concerns, or enjoy the beautiful fall scenery. I did a little of both, but mostly, I chose to feel good.

At one time, I had lots of health issues, but now I don’t. I credit it to showing up for myself, letting go more often, and making it a priority to feel good no matter what. And when I do, not only is life more fun, but things always work out better.

Science backs this up, stress floods our bodies with cortisol and adrenaline, which over time can weaken immunity, increase pain, and cloud thinking.

But when we feel good our bodies release feel-good hormones like endorphins and oxytocin, which calm the mind, boost resilience, support brain function, improve clarity, and enhance problem-solving. Feeling good truly helps the brain and body heal, think clearly, and thrive.

And best of all feeling good feels good!

For 10 years Sharon has guided an International clientele through individual coaching, workshops and recordings into better health and a more peaceful mind. Miracles and amazing transformations can unfold in a short period of time, where possibilities are limitless! In her own journey along the way, she has let go of: *social anxiety *depression *binge eating *allergies *asthma *migraine headaches *severe intestinal pain *menstrual issues *aches and pains that came and went *fear of flying *neck, shoulder, and facial stiffness and discomfort *lower back pain and a back that would "go out" *obsessive worry and judgment In the release came; way more fun, more energy, creativity and inspiration to follow her dreams, and commit to a healthier lifestyle. It led Sharon to learn to play the guitar, write and perform her children's stories, take up yoga, fire dance and build a successful business she is passionate about.
