Another fantastic year with our wonderful staff!

To show our appreciation, we had our annual Holiday Dinner at Red Car Brewery (www.redcarbrewery.com) in Downtown Torrance, where the food is great, the drinks are fresh, and they treat you right!

We are available for emergency care, contact lens ordering, and glasses ordering. We will reopen for routine eyecare when it makes sense to keep everyone safe from getting infected with the COVID-19 virus.

As the COVID-19 pandemic has evolved over the past few weeks, we have done all that we can to support the health and safety of both our patients and staff. To stay true to that, we've made the difficult decision to follow the CDC and California Optometric Association guidelines to temporarily close our practice beginning Thursday, March 19.
We will do our part to "help flatten the curve.". Be assured that at this time, no one at the staff of Drs. Stahl or Calder or any of our patients have had any known exposure, tested positive, or are under quarantine for COVID-19. We plan to re-open our practice on Thursday, April 2 but will reassess circumstances as we get closer and keep you updated. Although this will be challenging for all of us, we are confident in the strength of our community and know we can get through this together.
If you have glasses/contact lenses that you need to pick up, replace glasses/contact lenses, running out of a medication, or if you have an ocular emergency call (310) 323-5095 and wait for the instructions at the end of the message. We will do our best to meet you at the office pending availability. If we are unable to meet you, we will direct you to the nearest eye emergency facility.

URGENT CORONAVIRUS UPDATE
Dear Patient,

As the COVID-19 (AKA coronavirus) pandemic has evolved over the past few weeks, we have done all that we can to support the health and safety of both our patients and staff. To stay true to that, we've made the difficult decision to follow the Center for Disease Control and California Optometric Association guidelines to temporarily close our practice beginning Saturday, March 21.

We will do our part to "help flatten the curve.". Be assured that at this time, no one at the staff of Drs. Stahl or Calder or any of our patients have had any known exposure, tested positive, or are under quarantine for COVID-19.

We plan to re-open our practice on Thursday, April 2 but will reassess circumstances as we get closer and keep you updated. Although this will be challenging for all of us, we are confident in the strength of our community and know we can get through this together.

If you have an appointment scheduled during this time we will be reaching out to you to help you reschedule for a future date. If you have glasses or contact lenses that you need to pick up, please contact our office to make arrangements.

If you need to replace glasses or contact lenses, please contact us at (310) 323-5095.

If you are running out of a medication please contact us at (310) 323-5095 and we can transmit a refill to your pharmacy.

If you have an ocular emergency we are, as always, available to consult with you at any time. Call (310) 323-5095 and wait for the instructions at the end of the message. Dr. Calder or Dr. Stahl will do their best to meet you at the office pending availability. If we are unable to meet you, we will direct you to the nearest eye emergency facility.

We will continue to monitor any changes with guidelines issued by the CDC and or local, state and national public health authorities.The CDC has many wonderful resources and arming yourself and your family with clear and factual information will help you avoid undue stress. Be careful with your eyes this Halloween. Don’t get contact lenses without a proper fitting or else you risk a ghoulish nightmare of potential blindness.

“Don’t forget to eat your veggies”...or else you could go functionally blind! Click on the article to read about a teenager who only ate Pringles, french fries, pork, and white bread and paid the price with his vision and hearing.

The teen, considered a "fussy eater," ate a very limited and unhealthy diet for years. The lack of nutrients eventually damaged his vision.
