🦷 Why Baby Teeth Matter!

Baby teeth hold space for adult teeth, help with speech development, and make chewing comfortable. Even though they’re temporary, they need permanent care!

👇 Did you know baby teeth have roots just like adult teeth?

🦷✨ The 2-Minute Challenge! ✨🦷

Think your kiddo can brush for a full 2 minutes? 👀
Most kids stop brushing way too soon — but those last few seconds matter! Plaque loves to hide along the gumline and in those back molars.

Make it fun:
🎵 Play their favorite song
⏰ Use a 2-minute timer
🏆 Turn it into a family brushing challenge
Healthy habits start at home — and we love cheering your little ones on! 💙

🧵 When Should Kids Start Flossing? 🦷

Flossing should become part of your child’s dental routine as soon as they have two teeth that touch. This is because toothbrushes can’t clean between teeth where cavities often start.

👩‍👧 At first, adults should do the flossing to make sure it’s done gently and effectively.

🧒 Around ages 10–11, most children have the hand coordination to begin flossing on their own using floss or other interdental cleaning tools.

✨ Starting flossing early helps build healthy habits and keeps little smiles strong and cavity-free!

🪥 Brushing Basics for a Healthy Smile 😁
Brushing your teeth is a key part of keeping your mouth healthy! The American Dental Association (ADA) recommends:
✔️ Brush twice a day using a soft-bristled toothbrush
Choose a brush that fits comfortably in your mouth so you can reach all tooth surfaces.
✔️ Replace your toothbrush every 3–4 months
Or sooner if the bristles become frayed—worn brushes don’t clean effectively.
✔️ Use an ADA-accepted fluoride toothpaste
Fluoride helps strengthen enamel and protect against cavities.
✨ Simple habits make a big difference! Brushing properly every day helps keep smiles healthy and bright for life.
