Leah Walsh, APRN, brings an approachable style of care to Ironwood Urgent Care in Minden, combining same-day treatment with experience in long-term care.

Outside the clinic, Leah spends her time hiking, backpacking, paddleboarding, and skiing. She also proudly volunteers with the U.S. Forest Service’s Desolation Wilderness team, helping preserve and protect the outdoors that makes our region so special 🌄

That same dedication carries into her care philosophy: shared decision making, realistic goals, and making sure patients feel informed, comfortable, and heard.

Bronchitis or Just a Cough? How to Tell 🤧

A cough is common (especially during cold and flu season), but sometimes it can be more than ‘just a cough.’

A normal cough often:
• Comes with a cold or allergies
• Improves within 1–2 weeks
• Produces little or no mucus
• Gets better with rest and fluids

Bronchitis may include:
• A cough lasting more than 2–3 weeks
• Thick mucus (yellow, green, or clear)
• Chest tightness or discomfort
• Wheezing or shortness of breath
• Fatigue or low-grade fever

When to see a doctor:
🩺 Your cough lasts longer than 3 weeks
🩺 You’re coughing up blood
🩺 A fever lasts more than a few days
🩺 Symptoms keep getting worse instead of better

Call 911 or visit the ER if you have trouble breathing or chest pain.

Not sure what’s causing your cough? Your primary care provider can help. Schedule a visit with your Primary Care Provider or visit Urgent Care if your symptoms rapidly get worse.

When in doubt, get it checked out! Your lungs will thank you 💙
