We are a four month or longer Christian Residential Recovery Program. We believe the only way a man is able to successfully recover from alcohol and drug addiction is to have a spiritual awakening and accept Jesus Christ as his personal savior. God made the man head of the house and therefore, when the man's life is in order the whole house will be in order. We believe that a man must begin to see himself as God sees him. We believe that Bible study and Alcoholics Anonymous are an essential part of a man's recovery. The men attend church every morning and every night, where the Holy Spirit minsters to the men in song and scripture.. We believe in the value of work. All men are required to work 6-7 hours a day, Monday through Friday. This teaches job skills and establishes a good work ethic. We encourage the men to take this time to begin to live and think as Jesus did. In doing this, the mind will be clear to make decisions about where and what God is calling him to. We believe that being at NBIC is a Gift from God. This home is a safe place to become strong in the things of God and that the time here should not be wasted or taken for granted. We know that it is the only by the grace of God that we are allowed to have this ministry. We are small by design so that we are able to supervise and help each man as he progresses in his spiritual walk and recovery. This ministry is funded entirely by donations. We do not charge any fees for coming into our program, nor do we receive any Government funding. We provide the men with housing, utilities, food, supervision, drug screens, monthly reports to courts, parole and probation officials. We currently house 80-85 men. New Beginnings in Christ cannot operate without the support of others. It takes all of us doing what we can to keep New Beginnings in Christ ministry operating. We have grown from one man in January, 2005 to over 80 men today. New Beginnings in Christ is a registered 501 (c)(3) tax exempt organization, F.E.I. #26-0898275. All donations are 100% tax deductible. A major reason we have the support we do is because Donald and Joanna receive NO salary for their labor. Every penny given to this ministry goes directly to housing and discipleship costs for men in the program. Such a structure helps making the decision to give easier when supporters know administrative costs are minimal at NBIC when compared to similar ministries. We see miracles in Garfield at NBIC.
