It’s that time again! 📚💛

We’re collecting gently used children’s books (or you can order straight from our Amazon Wish List) to keep the shelves stocked for our NICU families through Melody’s Little Library at Temple Baylor Scott & White Hospital.

Because these babies are so tiny and fragile, this isn’t a traditional library, we don’t check books out. Families get to keep every book they read to their little one to help prevent the spread of germs. 🫶🏾

That means once a book is chosen, it’s gone… and that’s why we need YOU 🫵🏾 to help us keep the shelves full!

Every donated book becomes a bedtime story, a bonding moment, and a memory during one of the most emotional seasons of a family’s life.

Let’s keep the stories going. 💕📖

When you have a NICU baby, you’re not always able to hold and comfort them like a full-term newborn.

But, studies show that reading to your baby in the NICU can offer similar benefits, supporting brain development, regulating their heart rate, and strengthening your bond.

Even when touch is limited, the sound of your voice through a story can bring calm, connection, and healing.

Reading to NICU babies has been shown to strengthen the bond between parents and their little warriors while also aiding in their development. Through this initiative, we’ve already placed over 500 books in the hands of NICU families—but we’re just getting started! 📚
