Thank you to everyone who participated in our Annual Drive-Thru Easter Bunny and Bake Sale event! We passed out treats to 195 children in 2 hours. We had so much fun watching the children's faces as they saw the Easter Bunny and his companions.

The money raised from our bake sale will go towards our 2026 Scholarship to a Garrett High School Senior.

Special thanks to The Garrett Queens, Heartland Home Health and Hospice, Cathy Roberts, all our bakers, and of course, the Easter Bunny.

This week we celebrated National Walking Day and we cannot let the benefits of this day go by unnoticed without highlighting Layla Whitenack in our Dietary Department.

In May of 2025, Layla started her walking journey here at Miller's Merry Manor during her lunch breaks. Layla's health and weight have significantly improved over this past year. She started by walking daily and eliminated eating highly processed food in her diet. Along with her daily walking, she works out five days a week and drinks plenty of water. Layla credits her faith for this journey stating, "My body is my temple and I must take care of it."

You're doing a great job, Layla! Get out and walk today!

Thank you, Kristen Werling, from Werling Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education.

We REALLY, REALLY ENJOYED having you come with your wildlife and educating us all about them. You had a very captive audience with almost half the building in attendance. Everyone is still talking about it today. They loved all the animals, but they especially loved Pickle the possum. Who knew a possum could be so adorable!

We hope we collected enough supplies to last you for a while. We definitely will be calling you in the future to see more of your exotic animals.

Happy National Doctors' Day to all the doctors who work tirelessly around the clock to care for their patients. You are greatly appreciated!

We especially want to recognize our Medical Director here at Miller's Merry Manor - Garrett, Dr. Andrew Offerle! 🩺 Dr. Offerle became our Medical Director in 2018 and we are grateful for his dedication to the health and well being of our residents. When he is not working he enjoys spending time with his family, biking, fishing, gardening, and completing DIY projects around his home.

Debra Drew was the winner of our CE Solutions (in-services) basket this month. All our employees have in-services on many different topics monthly, i.e. dementia, HIPPA, safety, etc.

All staff who have their in-services completed before the last week of the month, their name are put in for a drawing. Congratulations, Deb, and thank you for having your in-services completed timely!

Sarah Stewart, our Dietary Manager, was so excited for the first day of spring last Friday that she grilled hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill for us. Thank you, Sarah, they were delicious!

Meet our care plan team: Sarah LeCount, Social Services Director, Amy Romans, OT Therapy Lead, and Peggy Uptgraft, LPN.

Our care plan meetings are designed for the specific purpose of reviewing the current plan of care and making adjustments as needed, with the involvement of the resident and their family. These meetings allow the residents to have autonomy with their care and express personal preferences. It also allows them an opportunity to sit down with the interdisciplinary team and express any questions or concerns they may not have had the opportunity to ask throughout their day.
