*** Bus driver training class scheduled in January ***

The next training class for people interested in becoming a bus driver for Gaston County Schools is scheduled in January. The training is for people who do not have a commercial driver license (CDL), which is required to drive a school bus.

The training will be held January 5-7 from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. at the Gaston County Citizens Resource Center, 1303 Dallas-Cherryville Hwy., Dallas. For more information and to register for the training, contact Crystal Laughrun, (704) 866-6223.

The class is limited to 50 people, and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. People signing up for the class must have a valid driver license (for a regular vehicle) at the time of registration.

Bus drivers are hired throughout the school year. Anyone who currently holds a CDL with an S (school bus) endorsement can apply on our website (link below), go through a driving overview, and begin driving without having to complete the training program.
