Infinite Beginnings had the honor and privilege of speaking with the parents of the Gaston Head Start program during their first parent meeting of the year.
The discussion focused on “From Darkness to Light: Understanding Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD).”
Gerrod Bennett, Director of Community Services (MSW), delivered an engaging, practical presentation that helped parents:
✔️ Identify signs and symptoms of Seasonal Affective Disorder
✔️ Understand how SAD may impact mood, energy, and daily functioning
✔️ Learn realistic, day-to-day strategies to help counter its effects
We are grateful to Gaston Head Start for the invitation and the opportunity to support parents with tools that promote wellness, awareness, and resilience. We look forward to continuing this important conversation and strengthening our partnership with the community.

The Saturday before Thanksgiving, the Gastonia Infinite Beginnings team & Members had the privilege of delivering Thanksgiving boxes to families in need within our community.

What an honor it was to show up with love, compassion, and the spirit of giving—because everyone deserves a warm meal and a reminder that they are not alone.

Lincolnton PSR hosted a beautiful event honoring the rich history and heritage of Native Americans - Native American Heritage Month. The day was filled with learning, language, culture, and love — capped off with a wonderfully prepared meal enjoyed by all.

Important update on SNAP benefits from Lincoln County Department of Social Services:
The USDA has directed a pause on all November SNAP benefits until further notice due to the federal government shutdown. Unless the USDA lifts its suspension, November SNAP benefits will not be issued. October benefits are NOT affected and remain available on your EBT card.

What to Do Now:
• Use current benefits on your EBT card
• Continue to apply for benefits and submit renewal paperwork on time.
• Call 2-1-1 for immediate food assistance or visit nc211.org to connect with local food pantries, meal programs and other essential services. Available 24/7 and in several languages.
