More OT Month goodness coming your way . . . helping little bodies and big feelings 💛

Pediatric occupational therapists play a key role in supporting self-regulation—teaching kids how to recognize their emotions, calm their bodies, and stay engaged in daily activities.

Self-regulation isn’t something kids just “have”—it’s something they learn with support, practice, and the right strategies.

Here are a few simple ways you can support your child at home:
✨ Deep breathing (“smell the flowers, blow out the candles”)
✨ Create a cozy, quiet space
✨ Sensory play (sand, putty, fidgets)
✨ Big hugs or deep pressure
✨ Music & movement breaks
✨ Simple yoga or stretching

These small, playful strategies can make a BIG difference in helping your child feel calm, focused, and in control.

IADLs (Instrumental Activities of Daily Living) aren’t just “life skills” — they’re the foundation for independence.💡
From managing time ⏰ to preparing simple meals 🍽️, handling money 💵, and organizing daily routines — these are the skills kids need to confidently navigate the real world.
When children learn IADLs early, they:
