Reminder: NMSAS Recovery Center will be closed tomorrow, Monday, March 16, due to expected weather conditions.

We know closures can create inconvenience, and we appreciate your understanding as we make decisions with safety in mind.

For us, that means doing everything we can to maintain access while also honoring reality.

MYTH: “They have to hit rock bottom before they’ll change.”

FACT: Rock bottom is not a requirement.
Rock bottom is often injury, incarceration, loss, or death.

People can change when they have:

connection instead of isolation

support instead of shame

options instead of ultimatums

a next step that feels possible

For Us, That Means… we don’t wait for someone to lose everything to deserve help.
We believe in early support, practical tools, and recovery that feels human.

Northern Michigan Opioid Response Consortium is a community-based organization focused on impacting substance use disorders. The weather forecast for Sunday into Monday is looking like it may be the most severe weather event we’ve had all winter, and because of that, we have made the decision to close on Monday.

We know this may create inconvenience, and we do not make decisions like this lightly. We also know how important consistency, access, and routine are for the people we serve. At the same time, after looking carefully at the forecast and considering travel conditions, we believe this is the best decision for the safety of our clients, staff, and community.

For us, that means doing everything we can to maintain access while also honoring reality.

We would always rather plan ahead than ask people to risk unsafe travel in difficult conditions.

To help accommodate dosing needs, we will be open:

Friday, March 13 | 6:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Saturday, March 14 | 6:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.

Please bring your lock boxes during those times for any take-home needs.

Thank you for your patience, understanding, and cooperation as we prepare for the weather and do our best to keep everyone safe.
