Confession: I really love this work.

Not the hustle.
Not the performative leadership.
Not the “power through at all costs” energy we’ve somehow normalized.

I love the moments when leaders realize they don’t have to do it that way anymore.

When the room gets quiet because something finally clicks.
When someone says, “Oh… this is why I’ve been feeling so off.”
When leadership starts to feel clear, grounded, and actually sustainable.

That’s exactly why I’m so excited about this upcoming collaboration with Jenna from Soul Purpose Institute.

We’re hosting a live Zoom conversation:

Values-Aligned Leadership: Truth Over Tactics

This isn’t about adding more to your plate.
It’s about helping your leadership, communication, and culture finally line up with what matters most and success doesn’t come at the expense of your well-being.

I’m excited to share that I’ve completed 27 hours of training to become an Adoption-Competent Therapist!
And this one feels especially meaningful.

Not just professionally important.
Personally meaningful.

Through my work (and life), I see every day how foster and adoptive families carry incredible love… and incredible complexity.

Transitions.
Attachment.
Grief and identity.

Trauma responses that don’t fit neatly into traditional parenting advice.

Yet in many communities (especially rural ones) the resources simply aren’t enough.

Families are doing their absolute best while navigating behaviors and emotions that require specialized understanding, and too often receive generic strategies that unintentionally increase shame instead of support.

Adoption-competent care changes that.
It means:
➡️ Understanding behavior through a trauma and attachment lens
➡️ Supporting parents, not blaming them
➡️ Helping children feel safe before expecting them to behave
➡️ Giving families language for experiences they couldn’t previously explain

I’m proud to add this to my work.

Foster/Adoptive families deserve informed care.
They deserve professionals who get it.
And they deserve access to that support close to home.

If you’re a parent, provider, school professional, or organization working with foster or adoptive families, I’d love to connect.

Three years.
Same campus.
Same topic.

Still one of my favorite rooms to walk into.

Today I have the privilege (again) of presenting on Personal Branding at SUNY Geneseo with my friend Mark Rider and I'm so excited!

When I was in a previous consulting role, I saw firsthand how smaller communities often don’t have the same access to resources, networks, and exposure that larger communities do.

It’s one of the reasons I’m intentional about doing work within my own community.

When we're talking personal branding we're talking about:
👉 Owning your story
👉 Building credibility before you feel “ready”
👉 Leveraging who you are and not just what you do

Personal branding, at its core, is about clarity and confidence.
It’s about helping students see that they don’t have to leave their identity behind to build a career.

They can lead with it.

And in smaller communities especially, helping people recognize their own value and communicate it effectively is the core of what I'm all about.

I’m grateful to be invited back year after year.
I’m grateful to stay connected to the next generation of leaders.
And I’m grateful to do work that strengthens my own community.

I’m really excited to share a new collaboration with from

A brilliant coach, deep thinker, and someone who instantly felt aligned both professionally and personally

We met, we clicked, and we made plans!

Here's what we've seen collectively:
➡️ people working hard, saying the “right” things, using all the tactics and still feeling disconnected, misaligned, and burned out.

That conversation turned into this:
Values-Aligned Leadership: Truth Over Tactics

A leadership conversation for people who are ready to stop managing perception and start leading from the inside out.

In this webinar, we’ll talk honestly about why tactics alone eventually fall apart and what actually creates sustainable leadership, healthy culture, and real trust.

We’ll explore how decisions, communication, and strategy shift when they’re rooted in core values, emotional awareness, and personal truth (instead of fear, habit, or external pressure).

The goal?
To help leaders recognize where they may be operating on autopilot and give them the tools to recalibrate with clarity, integrity, and confidence.

📅 Join us on 2/26 at 12pm and walk away with:
✔️ Clear insight into your personal leadership values — and how they show up in real-time decisions
✔️ Awareness of the hidden costs of misalignment (to people, culture, and results)
✔️ Practical frameworks for leading with emotional intelligence and integrity
✔️ A deeper understanding of how truth builds trust, momentum, and long-term impact

If you’re a leader or entrepreneur who wants to lead cleanly, communicate clearly, and build results that feel as good as they perform

This conversation is for you
Can’t wait to see you there

WHAT. A. WEEKEND.
Thank you to

I walked into a conference of 1,200 foster & adoptive moms knowing no one, staying with strangers, and fully expecting my introverted side to take over.

Instead, I left feeling deeply seen.

As both a foster parent and a therapist who works with foster and adoptive families, this weekend reminded me of something I know to be true — but sometimes forget to feel:

👉 Belonging regulates the nervous system.
👉 Being understood is a form of care.
👉 Foster parenting isn’t just exhausting — it’s a lifestyle.

I wrote more about this experience, the power of community, and why foster parents need spaces where they don’t have to explain themselves.

If you’re a foster or adoptive parent, I see you. And you’re not meant to do this alone. 💛
