New Year New You? But that implies there was something wrong with the Old You right? What if we shifted mindset, instead of making resolutions lets set goals. What do we want to accomplish this year? So while you are practicing writing 2026 start those vision boards, make that goals list, and really think about how you want to end 2026. But take some time to think about how far you came in 2025 as well, as much as people talk about how bad the year was, find the good, that silver lining so to speak.

Well 2025 is coming to a close, I have heard a lot of discussion as to how next year will be better because it's the year of the horse. But a year is what you make it. You have all the power to make the choices that change your direction every day. While we can't control all the outside situations we do have control over how we respond to them. If you want things to be different you need to start doing different things. And mindset is the first step.

Such a Manic Monday I almost forgot to post...Actually quite the opposite, a pretty laid back day with not a lot on the schedule, I don't know about you but I'm so bad at remembering things when I have tons of time to do them. Procrastination sets in and I lose track of time and all of a sudden I'm running around at 9pm trying to get everything done I wanted to for the day. The fix is not to pack your days so full you have no down time, but to practice time management. The first thing they talk about is always making a list. Start your chill mornings by making a list of the things you want to get done that day and then when you find yourself with nothing to do check the list and see what you still need to accomplish. It feels good to complete tasks and accomplish goals but also spreads out all the "to dos" so your other days are not filled with catch up.

WE MADE IT!!! The meals were enjoyed, company was great, presents are opened, boxes are stacked in the garage (I just know how much my husband loves breaking up the boxes so I leave them for him...I'm thoughtful like that), and hopefully the kids energy and sugar rush has died down. After all the chaos leading up to Christmas I will be taking the next couple of days to focus on me and enjoying the rest of my break. First up...Die Hard...I still haven't managed to watch it yet this year.

The kids are more than ready and you can feel the energy in the air...The big guy is coming tonight! I have had so many conversations this year with people, just like me, who feel like things went so fast this season and are not ready...I still have quite a few Amazon packages I'm waiting on. So in true fashion I will be up late wrapping and sneaking...I think that we need to create a new holiday...Dec 26th should be parents day off!

Welcome to Christmas Vacation! Our family kicked off our winter break with a movie marathon the other night and of course that was a must. I know everything says we are supposed to keep our kids busy all break but sometimes they just need that unstructured time as well. What I've found with my kids is when I ask them what they remember most, it's the nights on the couch watching a movie with the whole family, the remember me making a "special" breakfast the first morning of winter break. The things I thought were just little fun things are the bigger things they remember. They'd rather hang out with a relaxed, fun parent than go do something with an overwhelmed, stressed parent anyway.

Anyone else see that meme " Before I had kids I thought I had a good immune system... Turns out I was just good at staying away from people who sneeze into my eyeball"... This came to mind as my 3 year old got about 2 inches from my face before coughing on me. So let's talk immunity... While we can't take things to prevent a cold we can help our body be prepared to fight things off. Zinc and vitamin C are well known for helping to boost your immune system. But don't forget to stay hydrated and well rested. Those are just as important factors. The best way to stay healthy is to keep our bodies in top fighting condition so get a good night sleep, eat your veggies, and don't forget to exercise. And if a young child gets close to your face..DUCK!
