🐴 Now Hiring: Equine-Assisted Psychotherapist 🐴

We’re looking for a licensed clinical therapist with a horse background to join our practice part-time or full-time.

Details:
• Mix of office-based and equine-assisted therapy sessions
• Work with adolescents and adults
• Office locations in Geneva or St. Charles
• Equine sessions at our horse facility in Elburn
• Evening and/or weekend availability required

Qualifications:
• Illinois licensed or license-eligible therapist (LCPC, LCSW, LMFT, etc.)
• Comfortable working with horses
• Equine certification not required initially (will be needed later)

We would like to introduce you to Beth Gardner, our Administrative Assistant and Equine Assistant. She is the wearer of many hats! Some days she is in the office working in insurance claims and intake, other days you’ll find her with the horses. She loves being able to help in both of her “offices”.

Our “work” retreat where we worked on learning calligraphy, belly laughs, hidden talents and basically anything other than any actual work. So many wonderful memories made last weekend with the best team there is ❤️

After Angel had her own therapy clinic for 5 years, she herself turned to Equine Therapy and took the chance of buying a farm and a full herd. Three Therapy horses, mini horse, donkey and dog later-Anchor Counseling is offers Equine Assisted Psychotherapy and Equine Assisted Learning. Equine Assisted Psychotherapy is offered to our clients ages 11 and over, who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, mood issues and trauma history. Equine Assisted Learning to those who may not have mental health issues but struggle with anger, stress, difficulty expressing emotions or feeling stuck. Equine therapies are primarily based on the ground with the horse, rather than riding. Both programs are offered at Stable Minds, w Campton Hills Road in Elburn, IL. Equine Assisted Psychotherapy may be covered by your insurance.
