According to the CDC, about 12% of Americans have a diabetes diagnosis, while 27.6% live with undiagnosed diabetes. What’s more – 115.2 million Americans live with prediabetes, which means they are at risk of developing diabetes.

Fortunately, there are lifestyle factors you can control to lower your risk of a diabetes diagnosis or manage symptoms if you currently live with it.

April is Defeat Diabetes Month, and PAM Health is here to help with therapy programs that can improve function and address complications related to diabetes, such as wounds and heart, vascular, kidney, and nerve issues.

We’re celebrating our Health Information Management, or HIM, team this week. You may not see their work everyday, but behind the scenes, our HIM pros are a vital part of the high-quality care and service PAM Health provides. Their work is the backbone of the systems that store patient records, and they ensure those records are secure through the highest standards of data privacy and integrity.

Thank you, HIM team of PAM Health Georgetown, for helping power our patient-centered care! Our dynamic duo of Rainne Morgan Crook and Helen Chullin is an asset to our team!

PAM Health patients recovering from serious illness or injury often benefit from tailored therapy that restores their ability to do activities of daily living (ADLs) independently. Our expert occupational therapy team helps equip patients with the skills and tools to live their most fulfilled, independent lives, whether through daily hygiene and care tasks or activities for work and recreation.

National Occupational Therapy Month is the perfect time to emphasize how vital occupational therapy is to our patients’ recovery and helping them return to doing the activities that matter most to them. Thank you to our stellar occupational therapy staff at PAM Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Georgetown. Your expertise and caring goes far beyond patient care!

Our Georgetown location has both inpatient and outpatient occupational therapy services to treat a variety of diagnoses. Want more information? Call admissions at 302-672-5789.

Amputee Support Group, joined our team in traveling to our local physicians to thank them for their care with limb loss patients and limb loss resources.

In April, we recognize Stress Awareness Month. Stress can cause serious mental and physical health issues, including symptoms of anxiety and physical symptoms such as fatigue or headaches. According to the American Psychological Association, feelings of loneliness and isolation can be significant sources of stress.*

Take time this month to re-prioritize connection and diving deeper into the values, hobbies, and activities that bring you joy.

On the road to recovery, emotional well-being is just as important as physical well-being!
