Yeehaw for Texas Independence Day 🤠

We kicked up our boots and celebrated all things Texas with a rootin’-tootin’ good time! The Singing Cowboy, Fred Fuller, stopped by to spin some tall cowboy tales, share a little Texas history, and serenade us with some good ol’ fashioned cowboy songs that had everyone tappin’ their toes and singin’ along.

Then came the main event… the Armadillo Races 🏁

Safe to say these little racers stole the show and our hearts. What a wildly fun day full of stories, songs, and good Texas-sized memories.

Our residents are proving that you’re never too old for new adventures 🌎✨

Twice a week, our amazing volunteer Rick brings the future right to our community with virtual reality fun! Using headsets from Meta Platforms, Inc.’s Oculus, residents get to “travel” anywhere they choose — from walking along sunny beaches to exploring famous landmarks and even soaring through the sky.

The laughter, the wide-eyed wonder, and the “WOW, I feel like I’m really there!” moments are priceless. Learning new things keeps life exciting, and Rick is helping us see the world without ever leaving our chairs.

Cupid really showed off this year! 💘
Live music, sweet vibes, and a glowing “Hello Gorgeous” sign reminding everyone what we already know — this place is FULL of heart-stealers. Only at Grand Living at Georgetown could a social hour feel like a Valentine’s concert + fashion show. Thank you to MC Express for an amazing show!

Our Margarita Monday was delayed thanks to last week’s icy weather, but good things are always worth the wait. This Monday we enjoyed trying a new local Mexican restaurant, sharing laughs, chips, salsa, and a few margaritas together.

Every month we pick a new spot and do a little margarita “taste test” — all in the name of fun and friendship, of course. 🍹

Sweet time, great company, and even sweeter memories. 💛

Kaleb, an eighth grader at Zion Lutheran, participated in the Pay It Forward legacy project sponsored by the Bottom family, where each student was given $100 and challenged to use it to bring joy to one person or a group of people. Mrs. Sarah Bottom emphasized the importance of blessing individuals allowing students to build a personal connection through their giving. After learning about the project and discussing ideas as a class, Kaleb chose to share his gift with the residents of Grand Living’s Luminations Neighborhood, a place he had visited before with his class.

During his visit, Kaleb brought art supplies, games, and ice cream for everyone, spreading happiness, laughter, and meaningful connection throughout the neighborhood.

Moments like these fill our hearts and remind us how kindness can brighten an entire community.

🇺🇸 Grand Patriot Program – First Gathering of 2026 🇺🇸

We were honored to kick off 2026 with the first gathering of Grand Living’s Grand Patriot Program, a group dedicated to our Veterans, their spouses, and First Responders.

The gathering was led by our Maintenance Director and proud U.S. Army Veteran, Cole Taylor, and we were grateful to welcome Retired U.S. Army Major Bryan Norrell as our special guest.

Most importantly, we came together to honor and remember our fallen Grand Living Patriot, Colonel George Burrow, whose service and legacy will always hold a special place in our community.

Thank you to all who joined us in fellowship, remembrance, and gratitude. 🇺🇸
