This past Friday, we had the privilege of hosting a powerful Sacred Presence CEU experience in honor of Women’s History Month.

“Resistance as Catalyst: Reclaiming the Power that Drives Change” brought together clinicians and professionals for a meaningful, experiential training focused on reframing resistance as communication rather than noncompliance. Through equine-facilitated work, participants explored relational safety, consent, and the role of pressure in creating healthy, attuned connection.

The depth of engagement, reflection, and connection throughout the morning was truly impactful. We’re grateful to everyone who joined us and contributed to such a thoughtful and inspiring experience.

We look forward to continuing to create spaces like this—where learning, connection, and growth come together in meaningful ways.

Earlier this month, we had the pleasure of gathering for a beautiful Lady’s Luncheon alongside our partners at New Day Sober Living San Antonio.

Set at the San Antonio Country Club, the afternoon was filled with meaningful connection, thoughtful conversation, and a shared passion for supporting women in recovery and behavioral health. From the engaging panel to the creativity of the bouquet bar, every moment reflected the strength, collaboration, and community that make this work so impactful.

We’re grateful to everyone who joined us and helped make the day so special. Opportunities like this remind us how powerful it is to come together, support one another, and continue growing—both personally and professionally.

At The Arbor, we believe healing happens in both the mind and the body.

Our newly updated fitness center is designed to support our residential clients in building strength, routine, and resilience throughout their recovery journey. Physical activity plays a powerful role in sobriety—helping reduce stress, improve mood, increase energy, and create healthy structure in daily life.

Clients in our residential program have dedicated fitness time each day, giving them the opportunity to reconnect with their bodies, release tension, and experience the mental clarity that comes with movement.

Recovery isn’t just about what you leave behind—it’s about what you build moving forward. And for many, that starts here.

February was a full and meaningful month here at The Arbor. We had the privilege of welcoming several incredible partners and members of the recovery community to our campus for tours and connection.

We were grateful to host the team from Arise Recovery Centers, as well as Sam Hayes with Drew Horowitz & Associates, for time on property getting to know our program, staff, and the work happening every day at The Arbor.

We also had the pleasure of hosting a special Women in Behavioral Health Tour, where a group of inspiring women from across the recovery and mental health field joined us to connect, share perspectives, and experience The Arbor together.

To wrap up the month, we opened our doors for our “Spreading the Love” IOP Open House, welcoming colleagues and community partners to learn more about our Intensive Outpatient Program and the support it provides to clients continuing their recovery journey.

We’re always grateful for the opportunity to connect with others doing this important work. Thank you to everyone who visited us in February — we’re glad you were here.

We’re proud to announce Tamara Segura as The Arbor’s new Clinical Director.

Tamara’s clinical philosophy centers on treating the whole person — approaching each client with deep compassion while balancing empathy with firm, healthy boundaries. She works from an understanding that addiction is rarely isolated. Family dynamics, grief, trauma history, housing instability, and social pressures all contribute to the cycle. Recovery, she believes, is built from the ground up through insight and exploration of root causes — it cannot simply be wished into existence.

Tamara’s path into this work was deeply personal, shaped by her own experience loving someone affected by substance use. That perspective fuels her passion for supporting both individuals and families in ways that foster lasting, intrinsic change.

Her journey at The Arbor began as an intern. What she discovered here was what she calls “magic in the dirt.” Over the years, she has grown through multiple roles, remaining grounded in authenticity while continuing to develop as a clinician and leader.

As Clinical Director, Tamara is most excited to support our clinical team in facilitating powerful perspective shifts for clients ready for change — while also refining processes so clinicians can be even more present and impactful in their work.

What makes The Arbor different, in her words, is our whole-family approach. We create space to meet clients and families exactly where they are, fostering stabilization, insight, and meaningful healing together — not just individually, but as a unified system.

Her hope for every client and family who walks onto campus?
That they experience realization, healing, relief — and ultimately leave with a sense of peace and the ability to take a deep breath again.

Please join us in congratulating Tamara on this well-deserved promotion.
