There is a reason for “colic” and a fussy baby! In addition to pediatric OT, I am trained in Craniosacral Therapy (CST) and work closely with chiropractors to regulate nervous systems and decrease tension patterns for happier, healthier little ones. Let me know if you have questions or would like to schedule an appointment. I have openings in Georgetown and Lawrenceburg.

🚩Parents, stop being gaslit about “colic.”
One of the biggest red flags in picking a provider for your little one is this statement: “colic is normal and they’ll grow out of it.”

False. It’s a symptom of nervous system dysregulation and/or feeding/digestive issues, 9 times out of 10. It’s not normal for your baby to scream hours upon end, arching their back and turning bright red or even purple and it’s so sad that families are being gaslit about this.

How we treat “colic” at CKC as highly specialized pediatric chiropractors:

1.) Start with gentle, specific adjustments and bodywork to calm baby’s nervous system and ease tension in their little bodies
Each week, we see babies holding soooo much tension after birth. When we release this tension, their little bodies and nervous start to regulate and they calm✨

2.) Refer you to an IBCLC/SLP to assess for oral dysfunction/ties or faulty feeding mechanics.
One example: Oral dysfunction/poor latch=aerophagia (excessive swallowing of air)=ticked off/gassy/bloated/reflux baby

3.) Comanage with trusted OT’s, depending on our evaluation, to dive into your baby’s nervous system and potential vestibular issues and to add in supportive bodywork.

Not just, “babies cry and they’ll grow out of it.”
We find at root cause and we fix it. 🤍

Stay safe and warm during this winter storm! If you do get out to play, here are some fun ideas!

Winter Brain Breaks! These are designed for outside play to add intentional heavy work through PLAY. The "cool" thing is that you can pretend all of these ideas if you don't have snow. OR, you can act out these brain breaks inside, as well. Here's the why behind brain breaks: https://www.theottoolbox.com/brain-breaks
