..STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT VERMILION AND CHAMPAIGN COUNTIES
THROUGH 930 PM CST...
At 838 PM CST, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Rantoul to near Pesotum. Movement was
northeast at 65 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Champaign, Urbana, Danville, Rantoul, Hoopeston, Savoy, St. Joseph,
Georgetown, Tolono, Westville, Tilton, Catlin, Oakwood, Philo,
Rossville, Sidney, Homer, Thomasboro, Gifford, and Ridge Farm.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 57 between mile markers 218 and 229, and between mile
markers 238 and 257.
Interstate 74 between mile markers 180 and 219.
