The Davidson and Bellamy families enjoyed a pre Christmas visit to their home town to see and remember what this special town means to them.

Old Georgetown Walking Tours was happy to introduced Georgetown to a group of 12 from Greenville along with Diane and Benjamin from Michigan.
They arrived before the rain and had a good time learning about our history and touring Hobcaw Barony and Brookgreen Gardens.

Georgetown Chamber of Commerce Leadership Class started off Tuesday morning learning about Francis Marion, the Swamp Fox and his association with Georgetown South Carolina.
They had a full day of exploring and learning more about this wonderful place we get to call home.

Debbie and Fred were in town visiting their son Bruce and contacted Old Georgetown Walking Tours to see and learn some of our history.
Debbie had read “Indigo Girl”’and was familiar with Eliza’s involvement with Indigo.
We finished just as the rain started and they promised to visit again.

After reading John Oller's book, The Swamp Fox, David and Katie wanted to learn more about Francis Marion and his association with Georgetown. Old Georgetown Walking Tours was chosen for their introduction and they saw the areas where Francis Marion and his family lived along with homes occupied by British forces. We also highly recommended a visit to the Georgetown County Museum History Center to experience the Francis Marion Interpretive Center.

Newport, Rhode Island residents Donna and John journeyed south to check out our historic city and like everyone else, loved it.

The hot weather has curtailed several walking tours but Jody, Linda and their crew got one in this morning before it became too hot.
We thanked them for allowing Old Georgetown Walking Tours to show them a small part of our historic district and share a few stories about Theodosia and Dr. Charles Fyffe.
They promised to return and get another fix!

Locals Mary Ann Schooler Owens and Ray Schooler took some time off from their vacation at Pawleys to play tourist and learn some more history of where they grew up.
