Your custom equipment is an investment in your independence, which means a little routine care goes a long way in keeping things in perfect working condition. Here are a few simple tips to extending the life of your mobility device:

✅ Keep it clean. Wiping your equipment down can prevent dirt buildup that may result in wear on moving parts. Note: Avoid moisture near electrical components.
✅ Regularly inspect for wear and tear and take note of loose screws, damaged upholstery, cracked components, or frayed cables. Catching issues early can prevent costly repairs later.
✅ Charge your batteries overnight and store at room temperature.
✅ Keep your tires inflated and replace worn treads.

We are very excited to welcome Sarah to FIM in our Knoxville branch!

✨ Freedom in Mobility is excited to welcome Sarah Fogarty, PT DPT, Rehab Technology Specialist. ✨

Sarah earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2015 from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and returned to her hometown of Knoxville to begin her career. She has worked across a variety of clinical settings, with a primary focus on outpatient pediatrics and PRN experience in a skilled nursing facility.

Sarah has always been drawn to equipment-based solutions, a passion shaped by her daily work with pediatric patients and further influenced by becoming a mother. In 2019, she became a Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST), and in 2023 she advanced her training with Safe Travel for All Children certification to better serve families utilizing adaptive car seats.

In 2023, Sarah joined the startup team for Knoxville’s leading pediatric multidisciplinary equipment evaluation clinic. Through this role, she deepened her involvement in complex rehab technology (CRT) and developed a strong commitment to helping clients access the equipment necessary to improve independence, safety, and participation.

Sarah is married to her high school sweetheart and is the proud parent of two children. Outside of work, her family enjoys tackling home renovation projects after recently moving from a small farm so their children could be closer to school and extracurricular activities. Sarah joined Freedom in Mobility’s Knoxville office in January 2026 and is excited to expand access to high-quality mobility solutions throughout the region.
