🤔 Ever wondered about how humans came to inject Botulinum Toxin or as we know (and love) it, Botox.

- First discovered in 1897
- 1965 Drachman DB demonstrated paralysis and atrophy of chick’s muscles after botulinum toxin injection
- 1979 Ophthalmologist Allan Scott’s research led to FDA approval for human research using the toxin for treatment of strabismus
- 1989 FDA approved the use of Schantz toxin (oculinum) for treatment of strabismus, blepharospasm, and hemifacial spasm
- 2002 the FDA approved Botox for cosmetic for glabellar lines (frown lines)
