Happy 4th of July!!
On this special day, we celebrate the freedom and values that make our country strong including the right to grow up safe, healthy, and full of opportunity. As a pediatric practice, we’re honored to care for the next generation of dreamers, leaders, and changemakers. Enjoy spending time with family and friends. Have a safe and happy, July 4th!

Woo-hoo!!! Summer is here!! School’s out, sunshine is in, and it’s the perfect time to get out there and enjoy the weather! Here are our top Summer tips for the kids!!
*Don’t forget hats, sunglasses, and for those children 6 months and older, sunscreen(SPF 30 or higher).
*Hydrate, hydrate, and hydrate some more.
*Helmets on because safety is first. If it has a wheel, a helmet is part of the deal!
*Use insect repellent. There are natural ones you can use. Spray before they play.
*Cars get hot in seconds. Look before you lock for every ride and every time!
*Drownings are one of the top causes of accidental death for children and teens. Watch the water, don’t look away. Keep kids safe while they play! Stay close, alert, and swim smart! No distractions. Phones down, eyes up.
*Keep a bedtime routine. Summer nights are full of fun, but rest is good for everyone!
*Don't forget to schedule those check-ups! Avoid the last-minute back-to-school rush. Call us EARLY and don’t delay because healthy kids is what we strive for everyday!!!

Congratulations to all graduates from Pre-K to graduate school on this great accomplishment. We especially would like to "shout out" our Unity Pediatrics patients. There are only a few weeks left before the end of school. This can be a very overwhelming time for students. Check in with them to help them finish strong!
Make sure they are eating as healthy a meal as possible throughout the day.
Don't underestimate the importance of adequate sleep. A sleep deprived child is an unfocused one.
Allow time for study breaks. This will be very helpful for them to retain information.
Encourage the children and let them know to tackle one task at a time. Small wins are just as good as the big ones! Good luck with the remainder of the school year!
