Enjoying festivities without alcohol! 🍷 For the past year, I looked for ways to enjoy dinners, lunches, social outings without drawing attention to the fact that I may not be drinking.

One of my “restaurant hacks” is to order a sparkling water in a wine glass.

When hosting an event or attending one at someone’s home, I take one of the following: and pour it in a wine glass or other festive glass.

Joyous non alcoholic wine.
Poppi
Little Saints
Hiyo
Kin

Recently, I attended a baby shower where the non alcoholic drink selection was named for expectant mothers however there were several of us that wanted a festive drink but not the alcohol. Alternative “drinking” is becoming more the norm.

Pictured here, I am drinking Poppi in a festive glass with festive garnishes.

If you’ve found a great alternative wine, please share in the comments.

Community is created. Community is part of God’s purpose for us. He commands us to serve those in need. He counts us as blessed when we bless others!

Part of my work includes gifting my gifts to led by Romona Jackson.

Romona has developed a two year program designed to help women and children find safety, healing, and self sufficiency after leaving an abusive home.

At The Women’s Advocacy Center, we are here to help women in Germantown, Collierville, Millington, Arlington, Bartlett, Lakeland, and unincorporated Shelby County find a path toward peace, safety, and empowerment.

If you want to support our work, please reach out! We could use your help.

If you know someone in one of the aforementioned communities that needs help, please give them our contact!

Community is best when the people in the community serve alongside the leadership. I just completed a third year serving on the germantowntenn Economic Development Commission.

This year we hosted our second business summit and it was a huge success. Next year is going to be even better.

Serving with these people has been one of the best! Great thinkers and energized to do great things in our business community!

To serve in your community, don’t wait to be asked, volunteer. Just ask how!

Connecting with other business leaders is one way I continue to grow as a professional.

I appreciate so many of the women I am connected with and the ways we encourage and motivate each other to offer the best of ourselves to the people we serve.

Our relationship naturally evolves to friendship and that makes it all the more special.

Last night we gathered to celebrate the year end. One of the thought provoking conversations we had was around customer service.

What is customer service?
Where do you get the best customer service?

The things that stood out for each of us were:
1) We are greeted with a smile.
2) We feel like we are welcomed and appreciated by the business.
3) if we shop there enough, we are greeted by name!

, you got the award for best customer aervice from the whole group.

More of my personal favorites:

One thing we collectively agreed on is we appreciate a personal greeting but prefer not to be shouted at from across the store with the question how we can be helped.

Two powerhouse events. One transformative message: “It’s Not Them, It’s You.”

Transforming conflict into self leadership!

🎤 Keynoted at the Association of Women’s Attorney Conference — guiding fierce leaders to “transform internal conflict into wholehearted living” by pausing to observe what happens for them in conflict rather than the other person!

⚖️ Then paneled at the Memphis Bar Association’s John Dice Wellness Seminar — diving into health spans, burnout prevention, and self-leadership: “When you notice a part rising up, guide it... That’s what self-leadership sounds like in real time.”

From my yoga roots to counseling therapies, it’s all about owning your patterns: “The answers to moving forward and living the life you want lie in the lived experiences of your present and your past.”

Grateful for these connections and the spark they ignite.

The parts of us that show up in every day life experiences are valid. They have a purpose.

We often minimize them in an effort to protect relationships with others while sabotaging ourselves.

We then live with internal conflict.

Largely because we don’t take the time to understand the heart of the matter for ourselves and we lack the skills and courage to communicate effectively.

Are you ready to transform your internal and external relationships?

Capacity, window of tolerance, empowerment, is all about you being self led. You leading from your self without losing yourself.

We either react with blaming, shaming, and attacking or we shut down, withdraw, and disconnect.

In both situations we find ourselves ruminating about what we would have liked to have had happen instead in the aftermath of our experiences.

We are often managed by our emotions - anger, anxiety, worry, fear, frustration and when we lead from our emotions we react or respond with protective patterns that often create a chasm in the relationships we value most.

Self leadership is a practice developed through self awareness, self understanding, self compassion, and self confidence.

Self leadership allows you to step into courageous conversation in the midst of challenges with clarity in a way that fosters connection.

If you’re ready to transform your protective patterns, let’s talk!
