June is Aphasia awareness month!

Aphasia is the medical term for difficultly with language, often caused by a stroke or brain injury. It can affect speaking, understanding, reading, or writing, and sometimes all four. Aphasia doesn’t impact intelligence, but it can make communication frustrating & slow.

Speech-language pathologists are essential in evaluating and treating aphasia, helping individuals regain & adapt their communication skills.
