Abraham Lincoln said years ago, 'People are only as happy as they make up their minds to be.' Many of us get caught up in the 'tyranny of the urgent', the demands of the day, uncomfortable circumstances you find yourself in and we don't stop and consider the bigger picture- we don't stop and look at all the beauty around us- smell the roses. We are caught up in resentment, self pity, other people. Why not make today a day when you do just that- stop and smell the roses? Choose to have a good day! You will be amazed!

If you’ve been told by your estranged adult child that silence is just a boundary, please hear this: intentionally hurting someone by shutting them with therapy jargon isn’t healing, and it certainly isn't love. There’s an epidemic in our culture right now. This lady, Tania Khazaal, hits the nail square on the head. It’s time for a reassessment of what ‘mental health’ really is. It cannot be isolated from the systems we live in or grew up in. For sure, there are situations that warrant it for physical protection sake. ‘I’ am not the foundation of society, ‘family’ is. Tear the family apart because of ‘hurt’ feelings does damage to society. When the ‘I’ takes precedent over the ‘we’, we all lose.
