We’re excited to introduce the newest member of our Rise Instructional team, Stephanie Asper.

Stephanie stumbled into her practice while searching for ‘her people’ – those that would thrive when going slow, offer space and grace, cheer on self-exploration, and serve others. Stephanie is Yoga Alliance RYT-200 certified and cares deeply about sense of belonging and community, safe alignment and sequencing, and helping others discover or grow their own practice. She’s returned to her mat for over 20 years to practice being more fully human through mindfulness, self-regulation, curiosity in the presence of challenge, and loving-kindness toward herself and others. She welcomes you to join her in that adventure and pursuit.

You can meet Stephanie at our March Free First Friday class! And stay tuned to learn about her upcoming Spring series- an energetic Vinyasa flow class Sundays at 8 am starting March 15 🤩

"I feel like I've found my people." -recent feedback from a new Rise Yogi ❤

I have been hearing over and over these days, that folks feel a sense of urgency around cultivating strength in community, and collective care practices that nourish and sustain. ✨ We agree.

If this sounds like something you are looking for, we welcome you to join us in a care practice that meets you exactly as you are. Whether you are completely new to yoga and mindfulness, a seasoned practitioner, or are coming back to your mat, we are holding space for you to take care of your whole self- mind, body and heart. And we believe that in real and meaningful ways, this type of intentional self care translates to a collective well-being that this has a ripple effect within our community. 💗

Take care of yourself.
Take care of each other.

"We can sit for those who can't sit, walk for those who can't walk, and create stillness and peace within us for people who have no stillness or peace...Healing oneself and healing the world at the same time really is possible with every awakened step, with every awakened breath."
~ Thich Nhat Hanh, from his book Silence: The Power of Quiet in a World Full of Noise

Join us for a Restorative Yoga practice on February 8, Sunday morning at 10 am, to pause, meeting yourself exactly as you are, and to absorb deep, intentional rest for body, mind and spirit. ✨ In real and meaningful ways, nourishing yourself and connecting with community are powerful forms of collective care.

While some of our other Restorative special events are not eligible for class pass use- this one is!! Use your class plan or drop in for $15. 🫶

Curious about other ways you might connect more deeply with your practice and/or our community? Stick around after for our monthly gathering of Roots to Rise book club @ 11:15! No need to read anything in advance and we will not be giving out homework (unless you want to dive deeper on your own 😊)

We will listen to a short reading around the theme of collective consciousness from Thich Nhat Hanh's book quoted above- as well as a connecting excerpt from Patanjali's Yoga Sutras. We will then share a short guided meditation and reflection and then have some time for discussion. Whether you are completely new to Yoga philosophy or an expert, I'm sure we all have something to learn from each other. We will listen, reflect and discuss how we might apply these sources of wisdom to pursue collective care and wellness.

If you have ANY Rise class plan or pass, you are welcome to attend our Roots to Rise gatherings (and bring a friend!) at no additional cost (and without using any credit on your class pass!)

“If we are to teach real peace in this world… we shall have to begin with the children.” –Mahatma Gandhi

Join us this summer for a week of mindful movement, collaborative creativity and imaginative play at Rise Yoga Gettysburg. No prior experience with yoga or mindfulness necessary. For those who have only experienced yoga for adults, you might be thinking, "Is yoga really for kids? My kids aren't calm. Is that ok?" Children's Yoga looks a lot different than adult yoga, but incorporates the same elements of mindfulness, movement and connection, but in a fun, age-appropriate and accessible way for young people. It is a lively experience including storytelling, creative expression and teamwork, and our instructional team is certified specifically in yoga and mindfulness for kids! However this camp offers way more than yoga poses: loads of nature-inspired artistic expression, strategies to work through big emotions, social-emotional development and team-building and imaginative adventures with daily walking field trips. Send your children exactly as they are, with their big open hearts and creative energy.

We are thrilled to be offering a full-day camp this year with 3 different weeks to choose from!!

Come on in and warm up with us tomorrow afternoon at Rise! Classes are cancelled Tuesday morning, but we’ll be back open for our 4:30 pm class with Judy! Walkways and sidewalks are cleared but the easiest (and most cleared) parking right now is probably in the lot behind Mr G’s, unless you prefer to park directly out front on Baltimore st. Wear your boots as snow will likely drift into sidewalks with winds tomorrow! Stay safe and warm out there! 🙏💗
