Established in 1877, our cemetery began when a pair of local families generously donated the land to create a sacred place for their community. For many years, it was known as Grace Lutheran Cemetery and served only church members and their families. In 2020, our funeral home assumed stewardship of the cemetery, opening it to the broader community and converting the former church building into a full-service funeral home.
Today, we are proud to offer one of the region’s few cemeteries that accommodates green burial—an eco-friendly option that allows the body to return naturally to the earth without embalming, vaults, or non-biodegradable materials. Our funeral home is experienced in guiding families through this meaningful choice and can coordinate green burial both here and at other natural burial grounds, including those in Frederick and Harrisburg.
We are unique in that we operate a funeral home and a green-burial-friendly cemetery on the same property, yet each serves the entire community without restriction.
Our funeral home serves all cemeteries, not just our own.
Our cemetery welcomes families working with any funeral home, not just ours.
We also honor veterans by offering free grave spaces, with only a 10% lot fee required.
As a Perpetual Care Cemetery, a portion of every lot sale is set aside to ensure the grounds are maintained for generations to come—preserving the dignity, beauty, and history of this special place.
