The breath work we do is not for a moment, but for every second of our life. To change your life you need to change yourself, your habits, and your chemistry. The scariest part is starting. Take five minutes and listen to your body, go for a walk (keep air quality in mind), and breath.

Focusing can be difficult. It takes resources to attend and it’s taxing. It’s easier to disassociate and turn off our brains. It can an effective way to conserve energy. We are by all means efficient animals and will always take the most efficient route for everything. This comes at a cost however. Efficient doesn’t always mean present and that presents a lot of dangers. We need to be present and attentive. It makes life better. The student pictured below is using the Lyapko applicator ball to relax, focus, and to become a tune to her surroundings. Sometimes all we need is a little nudge, or in this case poke, to bring us back to focus after giving our nervous system time to relax, process, and synchronize. Stay in sync and be focused.

Nature is medicinal. Bathing in the forest and the sun can bring many health benefits. Feeing the sun on your skin and eyes, listening to the rustling of trees, and hearing the animals communicate brings your senses to the present. Walking with purpose, breathing with connection, and soaking in the environment can help regulate and reset our day. A 15 minute walk a day can change your outlook and make you more resilient.

Touch can have a continuum of purpose. A parent can touch to console their crying child. A scratch can relieve an itch. A punch can hurt. The way you touch transmits volumes of information. For some the message can be perceived differently. When your body is unregulated a loving touch can feel like a burn or punch. I had a kid who felt this very sensation. Once we made a few shifts the mother could finally hug her child without having discomfort. Feels good to make a difference.

Fall is here and change is coming. Sunlight is getting shorter and with it comes the seasonal drag. Getting out of bed can get harder, desire to move and get outside dwindles, and some may experience SAD. There are still ways to keep your energy up, ways to stabilize mood, and ways to mitigate/assist with SAD. Message and find out ways to manage and grow to make the darker days your friend.

Trauma can be forgotten. It can rewire your brain and change you. It’s scary, and your body can push it down to try and protect you. Dealing with trauma is difficult and the reason is because it was to much to process at first which is why it becomes stored in the body. Memories can re-emerge and if you’re not careful it can cause more damage then good. You have to take it slow and care for yourself. Part of CRASH Sensory is working through these inhibitions through breathing, movement, and touch.
