🏛️ Behind the scenes at the State Capitol

Last week, Jenn was at the state capitol representing how laws and policies are shaping the real estate market and what that means for you as a homeowner, buyer, or seller.

She is advocating for homeowners and paying close attention to bills that directly impact housing affordability, supply, and overall property costs.

One key example is HB 2442, a proposed bill that would increase the Real Estate Excise Tax. On a $650,000 home, that increase could add roughly $3,000 in additional costs, making homes more expensive for buyers and sellers alike. Jenn was there opposing policies like this that drive up housing costs.

She also supported legislation that would allow housing to be built in certain underused commercial areas, such as empty malls or strip centers, instead of letting those spaces sit vacant.

What this means in real life:
More places where homes can be built
More housing options over time
Less pressure on existing neighborhoods and prices

This kind of work happens behind the scenes, but it matters whether you own a home today or hope to someday. Staying informed helps us better guide, educate, and advocate for you beyond the transaction.

Having Shea as part of our team for the last two years helped us level up in a way we never knew we could.

She brought our average age down ⬇️and our quality up ⬆️!
Having a Gen Z on the team reminded us to grab ice cream instead of coffee and do time lapse burrito eating videos instead of another Gen X interview with the staff..

we now share Shea with the whole real estate community as she will join the team.

Shea we love you!! what we will miss most is your wit, your laugh, your sugary drink orders and mostly the void you filled on our team.
