Happy Mom & Pop Small Business Day from all of us at Fox Island Trading Co.! Nearly 11 years ago, we kicked off our little family business right here at the Gig Harbor Waterfront Farmers Market with a simple table of handcrafted soaps, balms, and skincare goodies. What started as a passion project on our charming island home in Puget Sound—blending Andre’s spa and cosmeceutical chemistry background with Kim’s herbalist knowledge—quickly turned into something bigger. We were just a husband-and-wife team making natural products we loved for our own family (using ingredients like raw honey and beeswax straight from our own apiary), and we never dreamed it would grow beyond those early market days, but our friends, neighbors, and the incredible Gig Harbor community wrapped their arms around us from day one. You showed up at our booth, shared kind words, became loyal customers, and cheered us on as we expanded into our storefront in downtown Gig Harbor. Your support has been the heartbeat of everything we do—helping this true Mom & Pop operation thrive and keep crafting organic, therapeutic bath & body products with intention and love right here at home. One memory that always makes us smile is our very first market day back in 2015: we were nervous, unpacking boxes in the rain, when a kind neighbor bought our very first bar of soap… and came back the next week with her whole family in tow. That simple moment reminded us why we do this—to connect with our community through natural wellness. Thank you for helping us turn a hobby into a family legacy.
