Let us pay tribute to their sacrifice and reflect on the true meaning of Memorial Day.

A free hot dog lunch will be served following the ceremony—everyone is welcome.

Thanks to Blitz & Co Florist we have beautiful single stem roses and patriotic bouquets for sale at Haven of Rest Funeral Home, Crematory, & Memorial Park all weekend long! Come by to visit the grounds and see the flags 🇺🇸 marking the over 2,200 veterans laid to rest here above Gig Harbor.

Haven of Rest is proud to offer an environmentally friendly 🌎method of final disposition that is available for our loved ones. The scientific name for this💧water-based process is alkaline hydrolysis. It is the same process that occurs as part of nature’s course when a body is laid to rest in the soil. A combination of gentle water flow, temperature, and alkalinity are used to accelerate the breakdown of organic materials.

Best of all, aquamation does not preclude a family from any type of funeral or memorial service. A traditional viewing and funeral service can still take place, only instead of burial at a graveside service, the remains would then be taken to the facility where aquamation will take place.

While we are unable to host our usual Memorial Day Ceremony due to social distancing precautions, we are excited to invite the community to visit the cemetery throughout the holiday weekend. We will be marking well over 2,000 graves of all veterans in our cemetery with American flags🇺🇸. We also will have floral bouquets 💐 for sale for families to purchase and place on their loved-one's grave. As always, thank you for the trust you place in us to care for your family and the entire community! 🙏

Due to our concern and care for the public health of our community during the COVID-19 pandemic, we are cancelling our 41st Annual Easter Sunrise Service for this year. However, the cemetery will remain open for families to visit their loved ones on this special day. We hope that you will be able to join us next year. Meanwhile, God Bless and have a Happy Easter!

The remains of a WWII Soldier, Army PFC Donald E. Mangan, have been found and identified in Germany and will now be repatriated to the USA where he will finally be laid to rest with his bother and other family members who are buried at our cemetery here in Gig Harbor, Washington.

The family wishes to invite the public to be a part of the funeral ceremonies as an occasion to honor a soldier who paid the highest price for our freedom. The services are scheduled for Tuesday, October 22nd, 2019 at 11:00 am and will be open to the public. Full military honors will be provided.
