is just my way of making a intentional point in the busy-ness of life to do something that is caring towards myself and that often means things that benefit my physical, emotional, spiritual self. Moving in nature. Making things with my hands. Being with my animals, making a nourishing meal. Just slowing down and creating space to be able to do that makes me feel loved. I like spending time with myself and after a very busy family friend focus week today was a great day to do this. Sometimes naps are in my list or a good book. Phoning a friend or scrubbing my tub so I can have a nice bath. Cleaning out a drawer or washing my car. They all can be ways you take care of yourself.
It doesn't make you selfish. Because when you take care of yourself, others don't have the burden of being everything for you. It also feels loving and when you feel loved by yourself is so much easier and more authentic to love others in this way. A healthier you is the gift you give others that matter to you and to the world around you.
