Parents are essential partners in Child-Centered Play Therapy, but involvement doesn’t mean access to everything that happens in the playroom.
In CCPT, confidentiality protects the child’s sense of safety, autonomy, and trust. When children know their play and words are held with care, deeper healing becomes possible.
Parent involvement happens alongside the child’s work:
• Sharing observations from home and school
• Learning CCPT-aligned strategies
• Noticing growth, confidence, and emotional language
• Meeting separately to support regulation and connection
We don’t share exact words or private play narratives.
We do share themes, progress, and ways parents can support their child outside the playroom.
When confidentiality and collaboration are balanced well, everyone benefits, especially the child.
