We were absolutely overjoyed to host a sensory-friendly Trunk or Treat at our Ahwatukee clinic this past weekend! Seeing so many of our neighbors and clients enjoying the low-stress environment, practicing those tricky social skills, and just having fun was the greatest reward. Thank you to every family who came out and made it magical!

A giant shoutout to all our dedicated volunteers! Your hard work and creativity made this event possible and showed the true heart of our team.

Ready to turn upcoming holiday anxiety into confidence? Here are 3 ABA-backed strategies to win through the seasons :

The Sensory Sidekick: Every successful holiday outing needs a structured environment and an easy "escape hatch"! Before you walk in, identify a quiet corner (maybe a bedroom or porch) that can be the designated "safe space" if things get too loud or bright. Giving your child a planned option to escape sensory overload prevents challenging behaviors before they even start!

Team Huddle for Consistency: It takes a village to raise a kid—but everyone needs the same playbook! Use a quick family huddle to share your child's favorite Motivators (what they're working for!) and the 2-3 essential words or phrases your therapist uses. This unified Alliance ensures grandma, uncle, and everyone else is supporting your goals, not confusing them.

Be a Behavior Detective: Want to see more great behaviors? Celebrate them! Focus on catching your child being good: sitting for three minutes, asking for a break, or using their manners. Immediate and enthusiastic reinforcement is the engine of skill development. The more you notice and celebrate, the more those positive actions will stick!
