Relaxing Point massage is integrative massage clinic with a specialty in Maternity Massage. If you are just starting your fertility journey, you are an expecting mama or you have given birth, you are in the right place! Getting pregnant, being pregnant and giving birth is truly a miracle… but it’s also hard work on your body. It also puts stress on your neck, back, abdominal muscles and shoulders. While pregnant your body produces a hormone called relaxin that relaxes and destabilizes your pelvic joints. This changes your posture, pulling your pelvis forward. Add weight gain to that and you may experience aching pain in your low back. Does this mean you have to be uncomfortable for 9 months or even after birth? No, prenatal and postpartum massage can definitely help. Similar to regular massage it aims to relax tense muscles, ease sore spots, and improve circulation. However, prenatal or postpartum massage is a nurturing massage that focuses on pregnant women and the changing needs of their bodies. Is Maternity Massage Safe? First and foremost, safe prenatal or maternity massage should only be performed by a trained prenatal massage therapist. They will know about special requirements and positioning that is needed. At Relaxing Point massage our therapist has extensive training in prenatal and postpartum massage. A common belief is that you can’t lie on your stomach during pregnancy for a massage, which is true for a flat massage table. Many spas or massage clinics throughout the country offer sideline pregnancy massage. While this is okay, it makes it difficult to access areas that need special attention during pregnancy. Specialized prenatal massage pillows used at RPM provide all the support and padding needed to allow you to lie face down ensuring that you will enjoy your massages while pregnant.

My name is Deidre Baker and this moment happened for me at one of the toughest times in my life. At 16, I discovered a form of therapy that, at the time was only seen as a luxury treatment rather then a form of healing. Massage Therapy revealed itself to me during ongoing treatment for my mom who was struggling with Multiple Sclerosis.

After graduating High School, my decision was made easy and I attended The Denver School of Massage Therapy. Over the course of several months I completed 815 hours of training a cadaver lab, and 90days of working in a hands on clinic.

In the last 11yrs I have continued to establish and create a one of a kind treatment. Custom Therapeutic Massage is intagrative massage that is customized to meet the needs of each client. I work to create balance through out the body and work to get you back to a healither, happier lifestyle as quickly as we can.
