1. ≈ 14% of male U.S. veterans were diagnosed with PTSD in FY 2024; among female veterans it’s about 24%.
2. First responders face elevated mental-health risk—up to 30% develop behavioral health conditions like PTSD or depression (vs ~20% general population).
3. Younger veterans (ages 22-49) show ~14.7% PTSD prevalence compared to ~4.9% in older veterans.
4. Many in service-roles struggle quietly: the call to “suck it up” still keeps far too many from seeking support.
5. There IS hope: treatments like ketamine therapy may help veterans & first responders open new pathways in the brain—which could lead to relief when traditional methods haven’t helped.
