Diastasis Recti: What Every Woman Should Know 💛

Diastasis recti is the separation of the abdominal muscles that can occur during pregnancy as your growing uterus stretches the connective tissue between the muscles. While it’s common postpartum, it can also affect women who have never been pregnant.

You might notice:
• A “pooch” or bulge in the midline of your abdomen
• Core weakness
• Lower back pain
• Difficulty engaging your abdominal muscles
• A visible doming or coning when sitting up
