This Veterans Day, we’re proud to honor Jonathan Willemin, a U.S. Army veteran who served six years—including a year-long deployment to Iraq. His work in water purification (think In the Army Now with Pauly Shore!) and combat lifesaver school sparked a lifelong passion for medicine that guides his career today.
From patrolling where the Tigris and Euphrates meet to walking through the ancient ruins of Babylon, Johnathan describes his service as a surreal journey through history.
He credits the Army with teaching him adaptability and perseverance noting that “The mission is never linear—embrace the change and keep moving forward.”
His reminder for all of us this Veterans Day:
“We should learn to treat every human with such grace, because there is a reason for the way they present themselves or behave and not knowing that reason should not make us think differently of them that we would a veteran with the same issues.”
Thank you, Jonathan, for your service and your continued impact!
