Many people assume therapy works the same everywhere. In reality, therapists have different personalities, training, and approaches.

Some therapists use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which focuses on identifying and changing thought patterns.

Others use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which helps people learn how to accept difficult emotions while moving toward meaningful goals.

Some therapists take a psychodynamic approach, which explores how past experiences influence current thoughts, feelings, and relationships.

Because of these differences, not every therapist will be the right fit for every person. The connection between therapist and client plays a major role in how helpful therapy can be.

If you have tried therapy before and it did not feel like the right fit, it does not mean therapy cannot help. Sometimes it simply means the approach or connection was not the best match.

Anxiety is not the enemy. Often, it’s your nervous system trying to protect you.

Instead of fighting it or judging yourself for feeling it, try getting curious. What feels uncertain? What feels unsafe? What do you need in that moment?

Small pauses create powerful shifts. Grounding yourself, even briefly, can remind your body that discomfort does not always mean danger.

This month, practice responding to anxiety with awareness instead of reaction.
