Tiny details. Big diagnosis. 🔎✨

This dermoscopy shows a type of scalp fungal infection known as “Black Dot Tinea” where the hairs break off right at the surface, leaving behind those characteristic “black dots.”

Sometimes what looks small on the surface tells a much bigger story beneath it. Under magnification, these subtle findings become much easier to identify, helping us diagnose and treat quickly and accurately.

Lipoma removal… without ruining the art 🎨✨

This patient saw Dr. Brandy Mills for an excision of a 9 cm (3.5 inch) lipoma on the upper arm.

A lipoma is a benign (non-cancerous) fatty growth that develops just beneath the skin. They’re common and usually harmless, but when they become large (like this one👀), uncomfortable, or cosmetically bothersome, surgical removal is often the best option.

This was a particularly tricky location due to the patient’s tattoo. Removing a lipoma requires precision on its own, but preserving detailed ink adds another level of care. Dr. Mills carefully excised the lipoma while strategically placing and concealing the incision within the negative space of the tattoo to minimize disruption to the design. 💪💫
