Spotted by Dylan Irish, PA-C, this dermoscopy shows a Nodular Basal Cell Carcinoma, the most common type of skin cancer.

🌟Features highlighted:
• Ulceration
• Arborizing (tree-like) vessels
• Shiny white structureless areas

What you’re seeing: Actinic Keratosis (AK)

☀An actinic keratosis is a precancerous lesion caused by long-term sun exposure. While AKs are common, it is important to treat them early because some can progress into squamous cell carcinoma.

Rosettes appear as tiny, white, four-pointed “clover-like” shapes that can only be seen with a polarized light.

Treatment options may include cryotherapy (freezing), topical medications, or other in-office therapies.
