The Campo Verde High School Biomedical Science Program nspires team work, curiosity, “out of the box” thinking, and real world problem solving. Students will be exposed to careers related to science, with an emphasis on allied health care and biomedical engineering. The CVHS Biomedical Science Program implements a three tiered approach: Project based classroom instruction the is rich, varied, and

challenging, “Real World” experiences such as guest speakers, company tours, university tours, job shadowing, internships, and after school competitions, and Service Of Others through numerous community service projects designed to inspire the community and students.

We were honored to have Dr. Filippo Milano, MD, PhD. visit our seniors and juniors. He is a global leader in umbilical cord blood transplantation, serving as the Director of the Cord Blood Transplant Program and focusing on expanding stem cell treatment options for blood cancers. He continued his conversation with us from the blood cord conference. His assistant/intern Sara also spoke to us and who happens to be a PLTW Biomed graduate and spoke about how her experiences helped her guide her journey.

AZ Blood Cord Conference with year 3 students to learn the latest research advancements including treatments for cancer and Krabbe disease. Of course being the only high school students there they were highlighted in the speaking several time They also practiced the escape room activity meant for high schoolers.
