Windhorse counseling embodies it's name. The "Windhorse" refers to a mythical horse, famous throughout Central Asia, who rides through the sky and is the symbol of a person's energy and discipline to uplift him or herself. Windhorse is literally an energy in the body and mind, which can be aroused in the service of healing an illness or overcoming depression. -from Windhorse Project founder Dr. Edward Podvoll's Book "Recovering Sanity" (Shambhala Publications, 2003, P. 224) ; Previously published as The Seduction Of Madness by HarperCollins, 1990. In Native American Culture the Windhorse is a Choctaw Legend. The Windhorse is the gentlest of all Indian Ponies who travels around and help out any travelers and Indians in need of help. The Windhorse had no enemies and had no fear. The Windhorse would care and carry the people who were in need..
