Labor of Tiny Blessings

Labor of Tiny Blessings Welcome, I’m Tamara, founder of Labor of Tiny Blessings Doula Care. My journey to becoming a doula began with my own births.

I’m a wife, mother of two, and proud nana living in the Chandler/Gilbert area for over 23 years. My first pregnancy was complicated by severe hyperemesis, and at nearly 42 weeks I labored without the knowledge or support I needed. Interventions like Pitocin, an epidural, and an emergent cesarean after my baby passed meconium left me wishing I’d had someone to explain options and advocate for me. My second pregnancy ended in a repeat cesarean after being advised that a VBAC wasn’t safe, another moment where evidence-based guidance might have changed my choices. Those experiences inspired me to become a Labor & Delivery nurse. Years on the unit taught me clinical skills and deepened my compassion, empathy, and commitment to supporting families. Becoming a doula allows me to blend that evidence-based knowledge with one-on-one emotional and physical support. As your doula, I’m part of your support team, not the medical team. I work alongside you, your partner, and your healthcare providers to help you feel informed, empowered, and cared for so you can have the best possible birth story for your Tiny Blessing.

October 15th is a big day in the loss community. Its national pregnancy and infant loss awareness day which was designated by President Ronald Regan in 1988. This day is recognized by doing a wave of light at 7pm in each time zone where you light a candle for babies gone too soon. Many gather in groups, attend events locally or online and many do it from home. I encourage everyone to join in whether you lost a baby or and light a candle for all babies and those who live on without their babies.

One way a Doula can help you is to know your Birth Plan Preferences. Knowing your Preferences helps your Doula to support your choices. 😊

Did you know there is no real evidence an Epidural slows down or speeds up labor?
