SO HOW DOES THIS WORK? Ultrasonic cavitation with radiofrequency (RF) is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure used to reduce localized fat deposits and improve body contour. The process works through the following mechanisms:
1. **Ultrasonic Cavitation**: This part of the procedure uses low-frequency ultrasound waves. These waves create microscopic bubbles in the fat cells (adipocytes). When these bubbles collapse, they create a shock wave that disrupts the fat cell membranes, causing the fat cells to burst.
2. **Liquefaction of Fat**: The released contents of the fat cells, primarily triglycerides, are then in a semi-liquid state. These fatty substances are more easily processed by the body when they are in this state.
3. **Radiofrequency (RF)**: RF energy generates heat in the tissues, which helps in multiple ways:
- **Enhanced Fat Breakdown**: The heat further helps in breaking down the fat cells and can aid in the emulsification of the released fat, making it even more liquid.
- **Tightening of Skin**: The heat from the RF also stimulates collagen production, which can tighten the skin and improve its texture, providing a more contoured appearance.
4. **Removal of Fat**: The liquefied fat is then processed by the body’s lymphatic system and excreted naturally over time. The body metabolizes the released triglycerides, converting them into glycerol and free fatty acids. These byproducts are then either used for energy or excreted.
The combination of ultrasonic cavitation and RF provides a synergistic effect, maximizing the breakdown and removal of fat cells while also improving skin texture and elasticity. (I usually say it melts fat and tightens skin). 🤣.
