🚨 Traffic Safety Update: Gilford Avenue & Hoyt Road 🚨

Due to a concerning number of crashes in the area of Gilford Avenue and Hoyt Road, the Town and Department of Transportation (DOT) have been working together to address the issue and improve safety for all drivers. Here’s what you can expect:

🔴 Proactive Measures in Place
A red flashing light has been installed at the stop sign on Gunstock Hill Road and Hoyt Road (We are aware of occasional malfunctions with the light and are actively working to fix it.)
Additional warning marking have been added to the roadway.

🛣️ Action Plan
DOT has committed to making important changes on Gilford Avenue:

Phase 1 (January): Speed limit will be reduced from 50 mph to 45 mph.
Phase 2 (Spring): Re-striping of Gilford Avenue eastbound from 2 lanes to 1.

These changes aim to improve traffic flow and enhance safety in this busy area. Please drive with caution and be mindful of the upcoming changes.
